Welcome!  This originally is the webspace of the Joachim Dorfmüller (1935-2018) Project comprising traditional microinverters for solar and battery. Here is what we learned:

micro: little unit

inverter: a device to enable interaction where there is disharmony

microinverters:  'devicing systems with so much inherent harmony, that there is little (or no) need of inverting and adapting' ( that's why these systems live so long : )
